An Inspiration Image Brought To Life

Project Summary: An Inspiration Image Brought To Life

Creative Contracting was hired to remodel a primary bathroom utilizing the existing square footage, while enlarging the shower, keeping an oversized soaking tub, and expanding the vanity and storage space.

Timeline: Built 2023
Location: Mason, OH
Remodeled Space: Bathroom

The Challenge

The challenge was that the bathroom had dated finishes, a large portion of the space was taken up by a jacuzzi tub, the entry door hit the wall by the commode, and an angled wall made an awkward area in the bathroom. The Homeowners asked us to redesign the space to address the concerns and make a more functional layout with a bigger shower, and a freestanding soaking tub.

With the goal of keeping the existing walls and plumbing rough-in’s in place, we were brought in to give this previously dated and underutilized bathroom a new life!

Our homeowners came to us with an inspiration image that they hoped we could utilize for selections and we were pleased to collaborate with them to make this vision a reality.

Special selections, Materials & Techniques Used:

The approved design included a water closet constructed to provide privacy and a pocket door was added remedy the door hitting the wall as it opened. The vanity now fills the space and gives the Homeowners plenty of functional storage. By relocating an air supply, we were able to increase the size of the shower and add a freestanding tub is a beautiful spot

Maple stained cabinetry in the warm tone of Sedona brings an immediate classic and timeless look to this bathroom while the slab front doors and drawers keeps the look modern and fun! (And easy to clean!) Set on a heated tile floor, in a contrasting color of Black- This contrast highlights both choices and the hexagon shape keeps the space playful yet elegant. To brighten the previously chosen selections, a durable Fantasy Quartz was selected. The White background of this countertop connects the white sinks, oversized freestanding tub, and the 4”x12” Soho Bulevar White Subway Tile within the shower, all helping to bring brightness to the space. Not afraid to mix metals, we introduced a classic chrome finish to the sink faucets, shower fixtures, and tub fill. While continuing the black theme with the decorative metal framed mirrors and cabinet pulls. The paint color selected was Sherwin Williams, Zircon. The perfect light gray to highlight the soft gray veining within the countertop and the shower pan and accent tile.

A personal note from these homeowners was their love of baths and the importance of enjoying their backyard view from the tub, while maintaining privacy yet keeping natural light. The placement of the tub and tub fill was chosen with this in mind, for most enjoyable use. We then introduced a Hybrid Shutter with split tilt which allows for total privacy on the bottom, while still allowing light and views at the top- An elegant and functional solution. We’d say this was a Pinterest “win”!

We worked with Creative Contracting to remodel our main bathroom and couldn’t be happier with our decision. The team of Debi, Lauren, Joe and Travis delivered a great experience from start to finish. Their process was well organized and collaborative. They communicated well and addressed the small hiccups that arose quickly and thoughtfully. They also took care to minimize disruptions and kept our home clean despite the flow of contractors in and out. The final product was exactly what we envisioned. We will definitely use Creative Contracting for any future projects!
