The Challenge:

Covid Lead Times

Changes to a remodeling project scope are oftentimes inevitable, even once construction is under way. The Creative Team prides ourselves in being flexible and forward-thinking. We allow changes and design modifications during construction.

We want the experience to be positive and enhance the outcome of our projects. By having open lines of communication and clear expectations, this promotes successful results.

On this project, the large awning window and bi-fold door were not originally part of the project scope. We had to pause, plan, and pivot once the idea was brought up! Re-arranging a few cabinets, creating a new layout, adding some additional framing/structural support- and the result was an almost completely glass back wall with an incredible view of the new porch & pool!

Special Selections, Materials & Techniques used:

A show-stopping 3 panel multi bifold door by Pella and a hydraulic assist awning window allow for an open-air concept between the new Kitchen and covered Patio!

Kitchen:

Creamy Linen cabinetry with a Latte glaze set the elegant and inviting tone of this new kitchen. Accented by a rich Hazel colored island and capped with a beautiful Golden Sienna Granite bring together the Italian Villa feel this homeowner wished for. Removing the existing reach-in pantry created a space for us to install 6’ wide pantry cabinetry, reaching 8’ tall.

Complete with rollouts, this new pantry area is larger, more functional, and provides easier access to goods and small appliances. The finishing touches of the newly stained hardwood flooring, multi-colored/textured mosaic backsplash, and the golden glow of the unique glass chandeliers above the island and table, truly take you to the Italian Countryside.

Covered Porch and Patio:

Drawings were created to enhance an existing pool area and decorative concrete surround. Our design needed to seamlessly fit into the existing conditions as if it was always there. Deckorator Ironwood composite decking was chosen for a durable and long-lasting selection for this large family who loves to entertain! A 42” Courtyard gas fireplace was installed to provide warmth and ambiance for chilly mornings on the porch with a cup of coffee, or an evening watching a ballgame!

Laurel Cavern Tennessee stone was placed in a drystack installation on the fireplace and at the base of all deck posts, capped with cultured stone post wraps. A special request for these to be placed at “bar height”, these make for the perfect place to rest your drink. A custom 6’ stained mantle was placed within the stone, accented by metal brackets that tie together the bronze-toned ceiling fans and decorative coach lights. Beyond the covered Porch, new decorative concrete was poured to match the existing finishes and provide the homeowners with another place to gather and relax. A wood-stained Pergola was also constructed by our team of skilled carpenters, and we foresee the homeowners having many beautiful nights under its cover!
