Creative Contracting was hired to redesign this 1903 Hyde Park Kitchen and Dining area. After exploring numerous floor plans and design options, the decision was made to remove a 3-Story chimney the separated the existing Kitchen and Dining Area. The result was a beautiful and open connection between the 2 rooms. Interior finishes and selections were made with the intent to maintain the architecture and original charm. A large hand scraped beam was installed to provide support where the chimney and walls were removed. Multiple cabinet finishes, 6 CM laminated island countertops, and specialty lighting all added to this magnificent new space.

Project Summary: A 1903 Gem
Creative Contracting was hired to perform an interior remodel on a 118 year old home with the goal to enlarge the existing kitchen by removing a load-bearing wall that included a fireplace in the middle of the home. The family wished for an open concept kitchen and casual dining experience to enhance the ability to gather as a family of 4 on a school night, or while hosting a weekend game night for 12.

The Challenge
We used Creative Contracting for a large remodeling project, including the kitchen, dining room and half-bath in our 100+ year old home. We couldn't be happier with the result! It was a complicated project, and involved removing a load-bearing wall with a fireplace from the middle of the house. The team was wonderful throughout the process, from coming up with the design that best fit our needs to working with us as we lived at home through the project. Their attention to detail really pays off, and we love our new space! We would definitely work with them again!
