Mason, Ohio Kitchen Remodel

The greatest challenge for this project was creating a more functional home without increasing its footprint while preserving the openness that made the house feel inviting. In the kitchen the existing layout offered limited storage, undersized cabinetry, and several design elements that wasted valuable space. Through careful planning, unnecessary walls and bulkhead were removed, allowing cabinetry to extend to the ceiling and maximizing every available inch for storage and everyday functionality.

Structurally, the most complex portion of the project involved transforming an unused plant ledge above the front door in the foyer into a functional loft extension and reading nook. Working closely with a structural engineer, the new catwalk and floor system were designed to safely support the additional living space while maintaining the feeling of the two-story foyer below. A new tempered glass window was incorporated to ensure safety without compromising the abundance of natural light.

The result is a home that feels significantly more spacious, functional, and contemporary all while working within the homes original footprint and architectural framework.

Kitchen

This kitchen remodel was designed to create a refined, modern space that seamlessly blends warmth, functionality, and timeless style. Clean-lined slab cabinetry in a soft, warm Cashew stain is complemented by custom stainless steel architectural details, including a handcrafted 42” range hood, crown molding, toe kicks, and an island furniture base, creating a distinctive contemporary aesthetic. Orange Bourbon quartz countertops extend into dramatic full-height backsplashes surrounding both the range hood and kitchen window, adding visual impact while providing exceptional durability and easy maintenance. Wide-plank engineered hardwood flooring brings warmth and texture to the space, while polished nickel lighting and brushed satin nickel hardware introduce subtle sophistication throughout. By thoughtfully reusing the homeowner’s existing faucet and pairing it with a Blanco Truffle sink, the design balances new luxury finishes with practical functionality. The result is a bright, inviting kitchen that delivers everyday convenience while making a bold architectural statement—perfect for both entertaining and daily living.

Staircase

As part of the home’s transformation, the staircase was reimagined to complement the clean, contemporary aesthetic established throughout the main living spaces. A custom railing system featuring white oak handrails and newel posts, stained to match the engineered hardwood flooring, is paired with sleek stainless steel horizontal tubular balusters to create an open, architectural focal point. The combination of warm wood tones and crisp metal accents delivers a timeless, modern look while enhancing sightlines and allowing natural light to flow between levels. New Shaw Natural Embrace carpeting in Sand Dune provides softness and comfort underfoot, balancing the refined finishes with everyday practicality. The result is a staircase that seamlessly connects the home’s spaces while reinforcing the project’s emphasis on clean lines, thoughtful detailing, and lasting craftsmanship.

Loft

What was once an unused two-story foyer was thoughtfully transformed into a functional loft, adding valuable living space while creating a one-of-a-kind retreat for the family’s children. Through creative design and structural engineering, this previously unused volume now serves as a cozy reading nook that encourages imagination, relaxation, and everyday enjoyment. Custom-built angled bookcases maximize storage while complementing the unique architecture of the space, and a whimsical lemur-patterned wallpaper introduces personality and playful charm. A decorative Hinkley wall sconce provides warm ambient lighting, while the existing picture window fills the loft with abundant natural light, making it an inviting place to read, play, or unwind. Connected seamlessly to the home’s newly remodeled staircase, this custom loft demonstrates how thoughtful planning and craftsmanship can transform overlooked spaces into some of the most loved areas of a home.

Primary Bathroom

Designed as a bright, spa-inspired retreat, this primary bathroom blends clean contemporary styling with thoughtful functionality and refined finishes. Custom slab-style cabinetry in Aspect Maple Tundra creates a crisp, timeless foundation, complemented by Milky Way quartz countertops that continue throughout the shower on the horizontal surfaces for added durability, visual continuity, and ease of maintenance. Full-height mirrors spanning each vanity reflect natural and ambient light, enhancing the room’s openness while beautifully showcasing integrated gold sconces that add warmth and sophistication.

The walk-in shower serves as the room’s focal point, featuring a striking dimensional accent tile in Soho Daphne Gray that introduces color, texture, and movement against the surrounding soft gray tile. Signature Hardware Drea fixtures in Brushed Gold and solid brass Schluter trim provide elegant finishing touches, while coordinating Amerock hardware reinforces the cohesive design throughout. A custom linen cabinet offers generous storage without compromising the clean aesthetic, and Sherwin-Williams Reflection paint completes the tranquil palette. The result is a luxurious yet highly functional bathroom designed to bring everyday comfort, organization, and timeless style to the homeowners.
