“Not-So” Formal

Project Summary: “Not-So” Formal

After exploring several options and different floor plan concepts during the Design Phase, the collective decision was made to expand the footprint of the existing Kitchen by constructing a small addition off the back of the house and take over the existing Dining room.

Once the interior walls separating the Kitchen and adjacent Dining area where removed, our Design Team created a much larger working area that included an oversized island with seating, large floor-to-ceiling pantry cabinets, new window seat, and a separate wine bar area with illuminated glass cabinets and under counter wine storage. The finish project also included removal of the existing wood deck to allow for a new Hearth Room addition overlooking the pool.

The Challenge

Creative Contracting was hired to design and remodel this 1990’s Westchester home. The original floor plan was very compartmentalized and included defined spaces for “Formal” Dining and Entertaining. Our clients were looking for something much different – they preferred larger, more functional spaces that fit their lifestyle.

Materials & Specialty Items

Project selections included: Maple cabinets with Oxford 5pc doors and Praline finish, Black stainless appliances by Samsung, Zephyr exhaust hood, Persa Pearl granite countertops, tile backsplash with glass inlays, Heat&Glo gas fireplace, 12×24 tile flooring, and refinish of existing hardwood flooring,

With a team effort, this home was transformed to meet our client’s vision and “Not-So” Formal Lifestyle.
