The main challenge with this project was the steep grade and elevation changes of the rear yard. The home had an enormous drop off and our client wanted a pool for the family to enjoy. The lower level of the home was not a walkout, and the new design would also require easier access to a new bathroom, changing area, and snack bar.
Large steps were designed to safely guide you down to the new pool area. Significant retaining walls were needed due to the elevation, and the new walls became a perfect refreshment and snack ledge around the pool. Turn on the retaining wall lighting and it now becomes a perfect evening party.
A large concrete pool deck provides plenty of space to gather and a quaint shed hides the pool equipment and necessities. The foundation was opened up and new walkout doors installed to the Lower Level. The snack bar comes in handy for a quick bite to eat. A new half bath was built to accommodate the pool goers, as well as a game room for plenty of fun.
This home is now truly the best place for their family to enjoy time together. The biggest battles these days seems to be who gets to pick the music “pool-side:”
